Today I marry my best friend, my forever and my always. I know it’s been a whirlwind of a ride, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. You are my soul mate and my love. God has known this would be the outcome from the beginning and has been molding me to be the man I need to be for you. I am by no means done in that molding either. I am growing daily and changing. My prayer is that I foster an environment of growth for both of us. That in our growth will fulfill everything that God has called us to accomplish together. I know there are great things in store and I promise to push you, to cultivate an attitude of never settling for where we are.
You are my today, my tomorrow, and my forever. I don’t ever want you to forget that. I have committed myself to you and as of today, it is official! We are one in His name and have a whole life together. I could say that I wish I would have met you sooner, but if I had, we wouldn’t be what we are right now in this moment, because we are different people in this moment than we were in the past. I am so thankful for that because my past has prepared me for YOU.
That’s right, everything I have gone through has been preparing me for you and only you! You are that special Jess! I hope you never forget, God orchestrated everything that I have experienced – with you in mind! Even more than I love you, He loves you! My love fails in comparison. My prayer is that I could show you a glimpse of what His love for you is and will be, that I would speak life into you and into our future children.
So on this day, February 6, 2016, I declare that I will love you as my Savior has loved me. I will give my life for you if necessary. I will sacrifice all that needs to be to allow you to become the woman God has called you to be. That I am no longer an I, but a we. With God at our center, I am yours and you are mine, today, tomorrow, and forever. I love you forever & always Jessica Lynne Burleson.
A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
